The Asian Asbestos Conference 2009 has been concluded with a rally at the Chater Road in Hong Kong coinciding with Workers' Memorial Day commemoration.

During the program, victims and survivors spoke out, along with the international delegates and performances were made by local groups.

After the program, the demonstrators marched to the Legislative Council to press for the immediate banning of asbestos in Hong Kong, along with a letter seeking the Hong Kong government to establish a Workers Memorial.

Thanks for your question.

The members of the network are very busy on their own country campaigning against the continued use of Asbestos. A-BAN also released a short video on how asbestos gets inside the body. You can view it here: Asbestos Video on YouTube. It is available in 9 languages.

Mesothelioma claims are unfortunate but sadly, sometimes its not your fault due to the negligence of others - particularly employers who simply disregard its presence irrespective of the buildings age. For us, this is unacceptable, therefore if you have been affected, our well established and trusted lawyers are here to support and advise. Thanks
