NOSHC adopts banning of white asbestos

The National Occupational Safety and Health Congress adopted the banning of white asbestos or chrysotile in the Philippines last October 10, 2008. Currently only blue asbestos or crocidolite and brown asbestos or amosite are banned. Here is the link to the adopted resolution.

This is a good move since it has been proven that all asbestos are carcinogenic. We just have to see if this proposal becomes a national policy or will just gather dust.
